Al Baqarah 131 - 140
Al Baqarah (Cow Girl)
131
ﺍِﺫْ ﻗَﺎﻝَ ﻟَﻪٗ ﺭَﺑُّﻪٗٓ ﺍَﺳْﻠِﻢْۙ ﻗَﺎﻝَ ﺍَﺳْﻠَﻤْﺖُ ﻟِﺮَﺏِّ
ﺍﻟْﻌٰﻠَﻤِﻴْﻦَ
iż qāla lahụ rabbuhū aslim qāla aslamtu
lirabbil-'ālamīn
(Remember) when God said to him (Ibrahim),
"Surrender!" He replied, "I surrender to the Lord of
the universe."
132
ﻭَﻭَﺻّٰﻰ ﺑِﻬَﺎٓ ﺍِﺑْﺮٰﻫٖﻢُ ﺑَﻨِﻴْﻪِ ﻭَﻳَﻌْﻘُﻮْﺏُۗ ﻳٰﺒَﻨِﻲَّ ﺍِﻥَّ
ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪَ ﺍﺻْﻄَﻔٰﻰ ﻟَﻜُﻢُ ﺍﻟﺪِّﻳْﻦَ ﻓَﻠَﺎ ﺗَﻤُﻮْﺗُﻦَّ ﺍِﻟَّﺎ
ﻭَﺍَﻧْﺘُﻢْ ﻣُّﺴْﻠِﻤُﻮْﻥَ ۗ
wa waṣṣā bihā ibrāhīmu banīhi wa ya'qụb, yā
baniyya innallāhaṣṭafā lakumud-dīna fa lā
tamụtunna illā wa antum muslimụn
And Abraham bequeathed it to his sons, and so did
Jacob. “O my children! Indeed, Allah has chosen
this religion for you, so do not die except in a state
of Muslim. "
133
ﺍَﻡْ ﻛُﻨْﺘُﻢْ ﺷُﻬَﺪَﺍۤﺀَ ﺍِﺫْ ﺣَﻀَﺮَ ﻳَﻌْﻘُﻮْﺏَ ﺍﻟْﻤَﻮْﺕُۙ
ﺍِﺫْ ﻗَﺎﻝَ ﻟِﺒَﻨِﻴْﻪِ ﻣَﺎ ﺗَﻌْﺒُﺪُﻭْﻥَ ﻣِﻦْۢ ﺑَﻌْﺪِﻱْۗ ﻗَﺎﻟُﻮْﺍ
ﻧَﻌْﺒُﺪُ ﺍِﻟٰﻬَﻚَ ﻭَﺍِﻟٰﻪَ ﺍٰﺑَﺎۤﻯِٕﻚَ ﺍِﺑْﺮٰﻫٖﻢَ ﻭَﺍِﺳْﻤٰﻌِﻴْﻞَ
ﻭَﺍِﺳْﺤٰﻖَ ﺍِﻟٰﻬًﺎ ﻭَّﺍﺣِﺪًﺍۚ ﻭَﻧَﺤْﻦُ ﻟَﻪٗ ﻣُﺴْﻠِﻤُﻮْﻥَ
am kuntum syuhadā`a iż ḥaḍara ya'qụbal-
mautu iż qāla libanīhi mā ta'budụna mim
ba'dī, qālụ na'budu ilāhaka wa ilāha ābā`ika
ibrāhīma wa ismā'īla wa is-ḥāqa ilāhaw
wāḥidā, wa naḥnu lahụ muslimụn
Were you witnesses when death would pick up
Jacob, when he said to his children, "What will you
worship after me?" They replied, "We will worship
your Lord and the Lord of your ancestors, Abraham,
Ishmael and Isaac, (that is) the One True God and
we (only) submit to Him."
134
ﺗِﻠْﻚَ ﺍُﻣَّﺔٌ ﻗَﺪْ ﺧَﻠَﺖْ ۚ ﻟَﻬَﺎ ﻣَﺎ ﻛَﺴَﺒَﺖْ ﻭَﻟَﻜُﻢْ ﻣَّﺎ
ﻛَﺴَﺒْﺘُﻢْ ۚ ﻭَﻟَﺎ ﺗُﺴْـَٔﻠُﻮْﻥَ ﻋَﻤَّﺎ ﻛَﺎﻧُﻮْﺍ ﻳَﻌْﻤَﻠُﻮْﻥَ
tilka ummatung qad khalat, lahā mā kasabat
wa lakum mā kasabtum, wa lā tus`alụna
'ammā kānụ ya'malụn
That's the people of the past. For him what they
worked for and for you what you worked for. And
you will not be held accountable for what they used
to do.
135
ﻭَﻗَﺎﻟُﻮْﺍ ﻛُﻮْﻧُﻮْﺍ ﻫُﻮْﺩًﺍ ﺍَﻭْ ﻧَﺼٰﺮٰﻯ ﺗَﻬْﺘَﺪُﻭْﺍ ۗ ﻗُﻞْ
ﺑَﻞْ ﻣِﻠَّﺔَ ﺍِﺑْﺮٰﻫٖﻢَ ﺣَﻨِﻴْﻔًﺎ ۗﻭَﻣَﺎ ﻛَﺎﻥَ ﻣِﻦَ
ﺍﻟْﻤُﺸْﺮِﻛِﻴْﻦَ
wa qālụ kụnụ hụdan au naṣārā tahtadụ, qul
bal millata ibrāhīma ḥanīfā, wa mā kāna
minal-musyrikīn
And they said, "Be ye (believers) Jews or
Christians, you will be guided." Say, "(No!) But (we
follow) the religion of Ibrahim, the upright one and
he is not of those who associate partners with
God."
136
ﻗُﻮْﻟُﻮْٓﺍ ﺍٰﻣَﻨَّﺎ ﺑِﺎﻟﻠّٰﻪِ ﻭَﻣَﺎٓ ﺍُﻧْﺰِﻝَ ﺍِﻟَﻴْﻨَﺎ ﻭَﻣَﺎٓ ﺍُﻧْﺰِﻝَ
ﺍِﻟٰٓﻰ ﺍِﺑْﺮٰﻫٖﻢَ ﻭَﺍِﺳْﻤٰﻌِﻴْﻞَ ﻭَﺍِﺳْﺤٰﻖَ ﻭَﻳَﻌْﻘُﻮْﺏَ
ﻭَﺍﻟْﺎَﺳْﺒَﺎﻁِ ﻭَﻣَﺎٓ ﺍُﻭْﺗِﻲَ ﻣُﻮْﺳٰﻰ ﻭَﻋِﻴْﺴٰﻰ ﻭَﻣَﺎٓ
ﺍُﻭْﺗِﻲَ ﺍﻟﻨَّﺒِﻴُّﻮْﻥَ ﻣِﻦْ ﺭَّﺑِّﻬِﻢْۚ ﻟَﺎ ﻧُﻔَﺮِّﻕُ ﺑَﻴْﻦَ ﺍَﺣَﺪٍ
ﻣِّﻨْﻬُﻢْۖ ﻭَﻧَﺤْﻦُ ﻟَﻪٗ ﻣُﺴْﻠِﻤُﻮْﻥَ
qụlū āmannā billāhi wa mā unzila ilainā wa
mā unzila ilā ibrāhīma wa ismā'īla wa is-ḥāqa
wa ya'qụba wal-asbāṭi wa mā ụtiya mụsā wa
'īsā wa mā ụtiyan-nabiyyụna mir rabbihim, lā
nufarriqu baina aḥadim min-hum wa naḥnu
lahụ muslimụn
Say, “We believe in Allah and in what was revealed
to us, and in what was revealed to Abraham,
Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and his descendants, and in
what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was
given to the prophets. from their Lord. We do not
discriminate between any of them, and we submit
to Him. ”
137
ﻓَﺎِﻥْ ﺍٰﻣَﻨُﻮْﺍ ﺑِﻤِﺜْﻞِ ﻣَﺎٓ ﺍٰﻣَﻨْﺘُﻢْ ﺑِﻪٖ ﻓَﻘَﺪِ
ﺍﻫْﺘَﺪَﻭْﺍ ۚﻭَﺍِﻥْ ﺗَﻮَﻟَّﻮْﺍ ﻓَﺎِﻧَّﻤَﺎ ﻫُﻢْ ﻓِﻲْ ﺷِﻘَﺎﻕٍۚ
ﻓَﺴَﻴَﻜْﻔِﻴْﻜَﻬُﻢُ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ۚﻭَﻫُﻮَ ﺍﻟﺴَّﻤِﻴْﻊُ ﺍﻟْﻌَﻠِﻴْﻢُ ۗ
fa in āmanụ bimiṡli mā āmantum bihī fa
qadihtadau, wa in tawallau fa innamā hum fī
syiqāq, fa sayakfīkahumullāh, wa huwas-
samī'ul-'alīm
So if they had believed as you believe, they would
have been guided. But if they turn away, lo! They
are in enmity, and Allah will suffice thee for them.
And He is the All -Hearing, the All -Knowing.
138
ﺻِﺒْﻐَﺔَ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪِ ۚ ﻭَﻣَﻦْ ﺍَﺣْﺴَﻦُ ﻣِﻦَ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪِ ﺻِﺒْﻐَﺔً ۖ
ﻭَّﻧَﺤْﻦُ ﻟَﻪٗ ﻋٰﺒِﺪُﻭْﻥَ
ṣibgatallāh, wa man aḥsanu minallāhi
ṣibgataw wa naḥnu lahụ 'ābidụn
God bless." Who is better in Sibgah than Allah?
And to Him we worship.
139
ﻗُﻞْ ﺍَﺗُﺤَﺎۤﺟُّﻮْﻧَﻨَﺎ ﻓِﻰ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪِ ﻭَﻫُﻮَ ﺭَﺑُّﻨَﺎ ﻭَﺭَﺑُّﻜُﻢْۚ
ﻭَﻟَﻨَﺎٓ ﺍَﻋْﻤَﺎﻟُﻨَﺎ ﻭَﻟَﻜُﻢْ ﺍَﻋْﻤَﺎﻟُﻜُﻢْۚ ﻭَﻧَﺤْﻦُ ﻟَﻪٗ
ﻣُﺨْﻠِﺼُﻮْﻥَ ۙ
qul a tuḥājjụnanā fillāhi wa huwa rabbunā wa
rabbukum, wa lanā a'mālunā wa lakum
a'mālukum, wa naḥnu lahụ mukhliṣụn
Say (Muhammad), "Are you going to argue with us
about Allah, when He is our Lord and your Lord.
For us our deeds, for you your deeds, and only to
Him we sincerely devote ourselves.
140
ﺍَﻡْ ﺗَﻘُﻮْﻟُﻮْﻥَ ﺍِﻥَّ ﺍِﺑْﺮٰﻫٖﻢَ ﻭَﺍِﺳْﻤٰﻌِﻴْﻞَ ﻭَﺍِﺳْﺤٰﻖَ
ﻭَﻳَﻌْﻘُﻮْﺏَ ﻭَﺍﻟْﺎَﺳْﺒَﺎﻁَ ﻛَﺎﻧُﻮْﺍ ﻫُﻮْﺩًﺍ ﺍَﻭْ ﻧَﺼٰﺮٰﻯ ۗ
ﻗُﻞْ ﺀَﺍَﻧْﺘُﻢْ ﺍَﻋْﻠَﻢُ ﺍَﻡِ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ۗ ﻭَﻣَﻦْ ﺍَﻇْﻠَﻢُ ﻣِﻤَّﻦْ
ﻛَﺘَﻢَ ﺷَﻬَﺎﺩَﺓً ﻋِﻨْﺪَﻩٗ ﻣِﻦَ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪِ ۗ ﻭَﻣَﺎ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﺑِﻐَﺎﻓِﻞٍ
ﻋَﻤَّﺎ ﺗَﻌْﻤَﻠُﻮْﻥَ
am taqụlụna inna ibrāhīma wa ismā'īla wa is-
ḥāqa wa ya'qụba wal-asbāṭa kānụ hụdan au
naṣārā, qul a antum a'lamu amillāh, wa man
aẓlamu mim mang katama syahādatan 'indahụ
minallāh, wa mallāhu bigāfilin 'ammā
ta'malụn
Or do you (Jews and Christians) say that Abraham,
Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and his descendants are
Jews or Christians? Say, "Do you know better or
Allah, and who is more unjust than he who
conceals the testimony from Allah that is in him?"
Allah is not unaware of what you do.
